The difference is specificity. The strong review names treatments, describes outcomes, and uses language like "comfortable" and "natural results" that map to what prospective patients type into AI searches. It gives the model anchors. It tells the story AI will use when it decides whether to mention you.
The weak review is just noise. It tells AI that someone was happy, and nothing else.
You don't need every review to be this detailed. You need enough of them to create a consistent signal. A smaller set of specific, treatment-focused reviews outperforms a large pile of generic ones — though the goal is to build both volume and quality over time.
This is the part most owners skip because they assume patients will leave reviews on their own. Some will. Most won't — not because they're unhappy, but because they forget, the moment passed, or they didn't know where to go. The operators who build real review velocity treat it like a system, not a hope.
1. Text within 24 hours of treatment.
Not email. Text. The message doesn't need to be complicated: "Hi [Name], so glad you came in today for your [treatment]. If you have a minute, it would mean a lot if you shared your experience — [direct Google review link]." That's it. Direct link, no extra steps, no friction.
The timing matters. Within a day of treatment, the patient still has the experience fresh, they're likely happy, and they haven't moved on. Wait a week and you've largely lost your window.
2. Ask for the specific treatment by name.
You can't tell a patient what to write. But your text can prime them. "We'd love to hear how your lip filler treatment went" is a gentle signal that mentioning the treatment is normal and welcome. Most patients will follow that cue. Some won't. That's fine — you're nudging, not scripting.
3. Make the QR code physical.
Put a Google review QR card at checkout. Some patients would rather review you right then, before they leave. Let them. The front desk can hand it over with a simple "We really appreciate feedback — this makes it easy." No pressure, no script, just access.
4. Respond to every review using treatment language.
